It's 4:28am, two weeks before the return to the new semester; something I have and haven't been looking forward to. 2005 is supposed to be the year of success and yet I don't see how I can achieve ultimate greatness. On other news, the car has yet undergone some more rather subtle modifications and is awaiting one or two more. Next week is Chinese New Year; and it looks like a break from tradition this year. The importance of this national holiday has fallen from what was regarded the time of the year to look forward to into something I'm rather unsure of. The days of playing fireworks with my cousins and bright blue skies are..different now. For one, there's no more fireworks, and my view of bright blue skies are linked to the crazy heat these past few months, and not so much the joy of green hill zone. Obviously, since my Granddad's passing, things around here are much different. Things that have been taken for granted have become more apparent, and there are some things that stay the same. I remember one new years years ago when we all crowded the once warm family hall here watching The Terminator on video. And that one time we completed The Castle of Illusion on the Mega Drive. Pure Bliss. It's almost impossible to relive those times, due to the fact that most of us have grown up to become rather serious (I'm in no way implying myself by the way) and pretending that there are more important things to do in life on Chinese New Year's. But honestly, what? What in the world can beat New Year's day with fireworks and movies on the family TV? Or even the food and the festival gambling? The sight of an Evolution VIII on the porch perhaps even a supermodel to wake up to but that's not the point. Well, it's all become a normal day around the house I suppose. Maybe this year I might be able to do something about that. And if I have anything to do about it, it just might be Schwarzenegger mouthing "I'll Be Back."
